Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 February 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the IGCSE GCSE Maths website or booking any tutoring services.

By using this website, submitting a form, or booking lessons, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

IGCSE GCSE Maths provides online GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics tutoring, including 1-to-1 lessons, small group classes, and exam revision bootcamps for students in the UK and worldwide.

These Terms form an agreement between you (the student and/or parent/guardian) and IGCSE GCSE Maths ("we", "us", or "our").

If the student is under 18, the parent or guardian is responsible for accepting these Terms and managing the booking and payments.

2. Services

We offer:

  • 1-to-1 tutoring
  • Small group classes
  • Exam revision bootcamps and short revision blocks

Details such as lesson length, frequency, pricing, and lesson content are agreed with you via email, WhatsApp, or booking forms.

We focus on GCSE and IGCSE Maths, including exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, and Cambridge IGCSE (Core and Extended).

3. Bookings and intro lessons

You may request a free introductory session through the website or contact form.

Intro sessions are subject to availability and are only confirmed once you receive a confirmation message from us. Intro sessions are intended for assessment and planning, and are limited to one per student.

Regular lessons or group classes are booked and scheduled by mutual agreement. We reserve the right to limit or refuse bookings, for example if a class is full or the requested time is not available.

4. Fees and payment

All prices are in GBP (British Pounds).

Accepted payment methods may include:

  • Bank transfer
  • Ace Money Transfer
  • Wise
  • Xoom

You are responsible for any currency conversion charges or transfer fees charged by your bank or payment provider.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • 1-to-1 lessons are billed weekly after sessions have taken place. Payment is due within a reasonable time after we request payment (for example, within 24–48 hours).
  • Group classes are billed weekly after sessions have taken place. Payment is due within a reasonable time after we request payment (for example, within 24–48 hours).
  • Bootcamps and revision programmes are billed weekly after sessions have taken place (unless a different schedule is agreed in writing).

If payment is late or repeatedly missed, we may pause or cancel future lessons until the balance is cleared.

5. Cancellations and rescheduling

We understand that plans can change. However, to manage the timetable fairly:

1-to-1 lessons:

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a 1-to-1 lesson, please give at least 24 hours' notice.
  • Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full and may not be rescheduled.
  • If the student joins late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time and the full session fee may apply.
  • If the student does not join within 10 minutes without notice, the session may be treated as a no-show and charged.

If we need to cancel a session, you may choose either:

  • a rescheduled session, or
  • a credit for that session.

Group classes and bootcamps:

  • If you cannot attend a scheduled group session, please let us know as early as possible.
  • Missed group sessions are generally not refundable. Where possible, we may provide catch-up guidance or materials (such as notes or recordings) at our discretion.

Any special arrangements (for example illness or emergencies) are handled at our discretion.

6. No cash refunds

We do not offer cash refunds for tutoring services.

Where appropriate, we may offer a rescheduled session or a credit towards a future session, at our discretion.

7. Student behaviour and responsibilities

During lessons, the student agrees to:

  • Arrive on time and be ready to learn.
  • Participate respectfully and avoid disruptive behaviour.
  • Follow reasonable instructions given during the session.

Parents/guardians are responsible for:

  • Providing a suitable environment for online lessons.
  • Ensuring the student has a stable internet connection and necessary equipment.
  • Supervising younger students where appropriate.

We reserve the right to end a session early or terminate the tutoring relationship if behaviour is repeatedly inappropriate or abusive.

8. Online safety and lesson access

Lessons are delivered online, typically using platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or similar tools.

You agree:

  • Not to share meeting links or passwords publicly.
  • Not to invite unapproved participants to lessons.
  • To keep login details secure.

Lessons are not recorded by default. If any recording is used (for example for the student's private revision), this will only be done with the knowledge and consent of the parent/guardian where applicable.

We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party platforms or the student's internet connection/equipment.

9. Use of resources and copyright

We may provide past paper questions, worksheets, slides, and other materials for the student's personal study.

Unless expressly allowed in writing:

  • These materials are for personal use only.
  • You must not sell, publish, or publicly share the resources.
  • You must not upload paid materials to public websites, file-sharing services, or social media.

All copyrights and intellectual property in the tutoring materials remain with us or the original publisher/exam board.

10. Results and disclaimer

We aim to provide high-quality tuition and exam preparation. However, we cannot guarantee specific exam grades or outcomes.

You accept that:

  • Progress depends on many factors, including attendance, effort, homework completion, and exam conditions.
  • Any examples of grade improvements or testimonials are illustrative only and do not guarantee similar results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (such as loss of expected grades, university offers, or opportunities) arising from the use of our services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination of lessons

Either you or we may end the tutoring arrangement at any time by giving reasonable notice.

We may terminate lessons immediately if:

  • Fees remain unpaid after reminders.
  • There is serious or repeated misuse of the service or abusive behaviour.
  • We believe continuing lessons would be inappropriate or unsafe.

Any credits for sessions will be handled fairly, taking into account sessions already delivered and any late-cancellation charges.

12. Website use

You agree not to misuse the website by:

  • Attempting to hack, disrupt, or overload the site.
  • Using automated tools to scrape or copy large amounts of content.
  • Uploading or transmitting harmful code.

We may temporarily suspend access to the website for maintenance or technical reasons.

13. Privacy

We process personal data (for example name, email, phone number, and academic details) to deliver tutoring services and manage bookings. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will show when they were last changed.

If we make significant changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example by updating the website or mentioning changes when you next book lessons.

Continued use of the website or services after changes have been published means you accept the updated Terms.
